Tournament Overview

Competitive tournament featuring digital card game, Shadowverse.
The top 8 players in the Preliminaries will compete in the Grand Finals.
The 1st and 2nd place players will earn the right to compete in the Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2019.

Player Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • Must present a passport when checking in to the tournament.
  • Must be able to submit he necessary documents (e.g., temporary visa) to Immigration as necessary.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently with the staff in Japanese or English.

Tournament Format

  • 8th Card Set: Dawnbreak, Nightedge
  • 9th Card Set: Brigade of the Sky
  • 10th Card Set: Omen of the Ten
  • 11th Card Set: Altersphere
  • 12th Card Set
  • Basic cards (starter cards, main story reward, Harnessed Flame, Harnessed Glass)

*Excludes animated cards and collaboration cards.
The tournament is played in Tournament Mode. Players can register and compete with decks using all usable cards in the format.

Preliminaries Rules

Players must pre-register two decks. The decks must not be of the same class.
Players will use the two registered decks in both days of the Preliminaries.

Match format
Best of 3 Series (the first player to win 2 games is declared the winner of the match)
Deck selection
Players are free to choose which of the two decks in the first game. However, winning decks may not be used twice in the same match.
In each game, the player who goes first is decided at random.
Day 1 Preliminaries
Tournament Format:
6-round Swiss Draw
Requirements for advancing to Day 2:
Must win at least 5 of the 6 rounds
Day 2 Preliminaries
Swiss Draw

Tournament Format:
7-round Swiss Draw
Requirements for advancing to Preliminary Playoffs:
Must win at least 6 of the 7 rounds

Preliminaries Playoffs

Tournament Format:
3-round Single Elimination
Requirements for advancing to Grand Finals:
Must be one of 8 players who win all matches in their group

Grand Finals Rules

Players will compete using the 3 pre-registered decks.
Players’ decks will be announced on the morning of the Grand Finals.

Best of 5 Series (the first player to win 3 games is declared the winner of the match)

  • Swiss Draw
    A tournament in which players compete in each round against a player of similar standing.
  • Single Elimination
    Players who lose a single match are eliminated from the tournament.

Sign-up Precautions

  • Participation in the tournament is free of charge and open to all.
  • Players will compete in the tournament on Shadowverse’s Tournament Mode.
  • Tournament Mode is free to access for tournament participants. The RAGE management team will contact participants with the details.
  • See Overview for the cards that players can use in Tournament Mode.
  • If too many people apply to participate in the tournament, successful applicants will be selected at random. The results of the selection will be announced in late March.
  • Disclaimers (entering Japan)
    Players residing outside of Japan are solely responsible for undertaking all immigration procedures necessary for attending the tournament and for resolving any problems that may arise in transit or at Immigration. The RAGE Management team accepts no responsibility for any such problems.
